User takes pics of person that the drone will be following around
Drone will notify the person if she is not corssing the streets correctly
If user gets injured and cannot get back up, drone will notify user’s emergency contact, and fly around to seek for the nearest help
If user gets kidnapped, drone will follow user, release loud alarm, notify 911, and notify the user’s emergency contact
Can carry items for user, up to 20kg
If user sees an area that she is taking videos have other drones flying around, user can rent the area that she needs by drawing on the map
Once rent, no other drones can fly into the area temporarily
If user wishes to not expose her house under other drones that may fly above her house, user can ban other drones from flying above her house
This will be regulated by the government, and SOAR will be one of the drone systems that joins this network
Nearby security drone flies to user’s house, rest on roof
Drone has cameras on all 4 sides, capable of detecting activities from everywhere near the house
If it detects thieves/robbery, drone will fly above where thief/burgler is, and release a loud alarm to notice the neighbors and scare them off.
Drone will also take pictures/videos of the thief/burglar and send them to the local police station
If there is irregular activity (ex. someone fell), drone will fly to where it is happening and send notifications to the user and their emergency contact
If situation is severe, drone will call 911 and notify the situation
Introducing SOAR, the drone system that allows everyone to have access to drones at an affordable price. SOAR helps users’ everyday tasks by providing a renting system that includes delivering items, providing security, and shooting videos.
This project is a really comprehensive project set in the future. It was helping me understand the reality and the breath of a complete user experience. I spent the first four weeks just understanding drone features and also understanding the industry and landscape at present of what other drone delivery systems are doing.
After that, I really wanted to figure out how this might appeal to the most appropriate target market. As I spent all this time, I understood the complexity of designing for different audiences because their pain points and magic moments are very different one to another.
During the last 8 weeks, I was able to really refine my visual identity systems and really work out the prototype. This phase was a lot easier for me because I had a lot of experience as a graphic designer. But overall, I think this project really illustrated the level of depth that's necessary for comprehensive and important user interfaces.
After I get to learn the softwares Cinema 4D and Redshift Renderer, I created an overview video that showcases the features of the system.
